Brief description of the work and author profile: It is one of the many copies of the original in Soriano considered achiropite. The original painting is set in an interior with regular stone walls and with an opening from which you can glimpse the surrounding landscape with clouds in the sky while the work of the church of SS. Rosario di Catanzaro the saint, who is represented very similar, is instead set outside in a street outlined in the margins in a central perspective while the horizon is formed by the curved ridge of two hills and the leaden sky with a hint of streaked clouds. Returning to the figure of St. Dominic we find that it is different only for the addition of some folds of the sleeves. It also presents its symbolic attributes with the book of sacred scriptures in hand and a branch of lilies in addition to the prayer crown of the SS. Rosary tied to the track and positioned so that it can be clearly visible.
