    Brief description of the work and of the author's profile: The seventeenth-century image belongs to the group of the 4 Sorrowful Mysteries which represent the original nucleus of the procession of the Mysteries, organized by the Archconfraternity starting from 1714. With the body slightly bent on the trunk of the column, the strong expressiveness of the sculpture stands as an icon of pain and a warning of human foolishness.
