Brief description of the work and of the author's profile: Oil painting depicting the meritorious beggar who with the collected alms donated to the church of SS. Rosary numerous elements of vestments and sacred furnishings. In the portrait of the character, called by the people Micarello, he is depicted standing and up to his knees. He is slightly smiling, probably the usual gesture in asking for the offering he collected. He holds clearly visible in his hands, the shell, the alms box with the depiction of the Madonna on the front which is also represented in the upper left with S. Domenico and S. Caterina. The portrait was made when the subject was still alive as he died on April 1, 1886; It needs a restoration as the canvas is glued on the panel and has several scratches with loss of color and a couple of tears. The glass frame is modern.
