Statue of the dead Christ
Congregation of the SS. Crucifix - Diocese of Ragusa
Vittoria - RG
The Christ, dating back to the eighteenth century, is of exquisite workmanship and great expressiveness, despite being produced in simple papier-mâché. To represent the moment of the crucifixion with greater realism, the simulacrum has articulated arms by means of two bellows, inside which there are two springs made up of intertwined olive rods, as was found during the restoration in 1982.
