The confreres dress completely in black, with sack, cord and hood strictly lowered in the celebrations of Holy Week, confirming the pre-eminently penitential reasons of their origin, which sees them engaged in the Office of Darkness, on the evening of Holy Wednesday, a very rare survival of this ancient rite, in the Procession of the Mysteries on the night of Good Friday and in the famous "Miserere" for three voices, a constant object of attention of ethnomusicologists.
